Hello, I have just migrated to the UK from Hong Kong and I am a UK tax resident this year. In my security account, since I have not changed my residency from Hong Kong to the UK, so I have some US stocks in this financial year which has dividend and 30% withholding tax already paid. Do I still need to report this dividend to the HMRC and pay additional dividend tax in the UK? Thanks. Kind regards,

Hi Patrick Lee,
Yes, you need to report this and you can claim Foreign Tax Credit Relief for the US tax paid.
Please see guidance here:
Tax on foreign income
Thank you.
