How do I contact HMRC for a 10 year past employment history that is not needed for a compensation claim? I know I can get the last 5 years through the HMRC app and these forms are here if I need my employment history for submitting a compensation claim- https://www.gov.uk/get-proof-employment-history and https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-insurance-employment-history-request- but I do not need the history for submitting a claim. It is for a volunteering role application that request a 10 year work history. Thanks

Hi SuzL28,
For the earlier tax years you will need to make a subject access request.
For details of how to do this please see guidance here:
Make a subject access request to HMRC
Thank you.

Dear Team 6 months ago I made an online subject access request about my employment history the years between 1997-1999 which is not for a compensation claim or tax benefit. Same time I have received an e-mail with a reference code. A few months later, I called the relevant call center to check my application, but my reference code or application request did not show up. I also made my application by calling your call center, but my request has not been completed for 6 months and I have not been informed about the reason for the delay. Could you please help me with my request?
