I live with my family in UK. I commute to work in Norway and I pay my income taxes in Norway. I have submit self assessment both places every year. According to my tax accountant I’m liable for additional tax in the UK due to being a high earner. I know people in a very similar situation that have been advised to not submit self assessment in the UK and therefore pay no additional tax in the UK. Who is right?

Hi,

As you state you live in the UK, you would be considered as UK tax resident and therefore liable to declare your worldwide income here. As it is foreign income, a tax return is required. You can see guidance here:

Tax on foreign income

Thank you.
