I moved to India from UK in 2012 with no intention of returning. Transfer of my DB pension scheme in UK was completed to a qualified QROPS scheme in India in Jan 2015. I have now decided to return to work in UK in 2023 and I am now 51 years old. I did not make any additional contribution to my QROPS in India while I was working there. I want to know 1) Can I leave my QROPS in India as I may again decide to return to India for retirement after a few years? 2) Is it possible to opt in to a DB pension scheme on returning to work in UK but still continue to leave my QROPS in India? If so, would I be enrolled in the 1995 or 2015 scheme? 3) Is it possible for me to start now a new SIPP private pension contribution in UK,when I return to UK to work? This is if I leave my QROPS in India and opt out of any UK employers DB scheme. 4) Would any new SIPP contribution take into account the previous DB pension scheme which was transferred out to QROPS, for calculating the Lifetime allowance? Many thanks.
