Hi HMRC, I am planning to visit my spouse in the UK between 3 to 6 months and as a tourist. He is undertaking his masters in university. I plan to continue employment with my Singaporean employer, remotely, replying to emails and taking some calls on part time basis while I travel/visit my spouse. I will not be working for any UK entities. My Singapore salary will not be remitted to the UK and will be solely used in Singapore when I return back to Singapore from my travels (all required taxes will be paid in Singapore). Total income will be SGD70,000 (approximately 45,000 GBP) per year. Question: If I am only working part-time as above when I am in the UK, with no remittances of my Singapore income, will the salary for the work I perform remotely for my Singaporean employer while visiting the UK attract any tax requiring me to file taxes?
