IHT VALUATION OF AN ESTATE FOR JOINTLY OWNED PROPERTY

If parents and 2 children own the main home as joint tenants and a parent passes away what value is included to calculate the estate or does it pass to the remaining joint tenants without being included in the estate of the deceased. Thank you
