Tax change after end of employment

How long should it take to update a tax code after ending employment, particularly if there is no new employer and the P45 has not been submitted for any benefits claim?

If there is no ongoing source of income the tax code would still show as the previous one. If you do have an ongoing source of income and require an updated code you should contact our Income Tax team.
