Hi, if my partner and I earned under the £100K net income threshold in the 2024 tax year, do we qualify for the free childcare hours in 2025? Or is the eligibility for free childcare hours in 2025 based on our earnings during the 2025 tax year? Thanks

Hi Louise,
Please find guidance here:
heck you're eligible for free childcare if you're working
Thank you.

Hi, I’ve read the guidance but it’s not clear whether the eligibility is based on the previous financial year? So if we claim for the free hours, will it be means tested against our 2024 earnings or our projected 2025 earnings?

Hi ,

Eligibility is calculated on your expected income over the next three months -:

15 and 30 hours childcare for eligible working families in England   .

Thank you .
