Hi Can you explain in simple terms what my adjusted net income is and how it is calculated. I am trying to fill out a tax return and have an income on the P60 total pay for the year as £53,425.05 with a tax paid value of £8710.00. I pay into the teachers pension scheme. When completing the self assessment these figures were already pre-populated I assume by HMRC. Are these the correct figures to use or do I need to change them? Thanks

Hi,

Adjusted net income is your total taxable income before any Personal Allowances and less certain tax reliefs. You can find more details, and work out your adjusted net income here:
Personal Allowances: adjusted net income
Thank you.
