I have investments in funds on two platforms: mostly funds, but also a few shares. Some of the funds generate interest and others generate dividends (and the shares pay dividends). Do I need to declare these to HMRC or will the information be passed on by the platforms? If I do need to declare them, how do I go about doing it?

Hi,

Interest would be declared to HMRC however you would need to declare the dividends. If you don't already complete a Self Assessment, you woulld complete one if your Interest or Dividends were above £10,000. Outside of that you can contact by telephone or in writing.

Tax on dividends

Thank you.
