Hi, I am a Chilean. A UK , domicile,resident , but not as yet a UK citizen. Am I entitled to a personal tax allowence as a UK resident?

Hi,
 
As a UK resident you would be entitled to claim the allowances.

If non resident, then you cannot  .

New post. I returned to UK having lived overseas for 20 years. I returned in October 2022. My only income was my basic state pension and a small monthly private pension. I do not own any property. My only income was from my pensions from3 October 2022 until 25 March 2023 was approximately £5201. From April 2022- end of September my pensions which was my only income when I lived in Egypt was £4091.90 My personal tax allowance in UK I understand was £12250. Whilst abroad I was classed as non residential. I was 69/70 at this time so not working. I have now received a letter from HMRC saying I owe £1250 tax for the year 2022/23 Can anyone explain or understand this. I have no other income
