If I am currently taking a sabbatical from work (i.e., no income from a job - whether freelance or full-time and thus no PAYE) and my saving interests during 6 April 2023 to 5 April 2024 will likely be less than £17570, may I confirm that I will not need to pay any tax (saving interest tax) for Tax Year 23/24? And I will not need to file self-assessment? Thank you.

Hi I,
If your only income is savings interest and this is less than £17570 no tax is due, but if your savings interest is over £10K you will need to complete a Self Assessment tax return.
Thank you.
