I tried to apply for NiNo on the official website and after answering all the questions is says I did not need one. It also then says you do not need one to open ISA account, please speak to your provider. Is it true I do not need National Insurance number if my only reason for requesting one is to open a Stock and Share ISA, Unfortunately, plenty of google searches and this forum seems to suggest a NiNo is needed to open an ISA. Please can someone confirm HMRC's rules on this. I'm a housewife so not working but, presumably, I'm still allowed to open an ISA without NiNo?
