I am a BNO Visa holder just arrived on 29 Nov 2024. Since then, I have no income from both UK and HK sources. My expenses are funded by my savings. When I go to 'Check Resident Status' web, I was classified as UK Tax resident. Then I went to the TAX return Self-Assessment. I was then not necessary to submit the Tax-Return, due to my no working and no income status. Is it the actually situation I should not register a self-assessment account ? Please understand that I am already 60s and is hard to find a job. I would live on my savings first. I just want to clarify what registration or process I should perform to comply with UK tax regulations, even I have zero income in 2024/2025. Thank you for your assistance.
