Hello, I've been living in Switzerland for 2.5 years, and will come back to the UK in January. I would like to transfer some savings (under £60k) to my UK bank, in order to, in the future, purchase property or so. Do I need to pay tax or declare it somehow? It's just savings from my normal salary in Switzerland, no gained interest or other non-declared money. Thanks in advance.

Hi Paulo Azevedo,
No, you don't need to pay tax on the capital.
Only any interest or dividends that this then generates is taxable income.
Thank you.
