Reciving tax refund without UK bank account in country that doesn’t use checks

I worked in the uk a while back and closed my bank account when I moved out. But turns out I’m stilled owed money back in taxes. Any advice on how to receive this? My current country of residence has stopped using checks a long time ago.

Hi,
If you no longer have a UK bank account then we can send the cheque to a nominee for you.
If you send a letter to HMRC with the nominess name and address this casn be arranged.
The address is:
HMRCSelf Assessment & PAYE, BX9 1AS UK.
