Hi, I am a Uk citizen, who lives in northern ireland, ands travel daily to work in ROI. I want to contribute to a UK personal pension, however I am taxed at 40% at source in ROI, therefore contributing to a UK pension, only to be taxed again when I receive the pension doesn't really make sense. What options do I have here. If I obtain a certificate of residence from HMRC, will that enable me to obtain a rebate of taxes paid in ROI and then submit a self assessment in the UK to pay taxes there. Would it enable me to obtain my wages as net value, then submit a self assessment in Uk at the end of the tax year? I have read about transborder workers relief, which provides tax relief for workers who live in ROI and travel for work in NI - is there a scheme for myself who lives in NI and works in ROI? Thanks

Hi,
You would need to ask the Irish authorities about this.
Thankyou.
