I have lived and worked in Germany for the last 25 years. German resident but UK citizen. 13 months ago, I started to claim my UK pension for the earlier years I worked in England. In addition, I am also receiving my German state pension (which is taxed) and I am still in full-time, permanent employment and plan to continue working for the foreseeable future. My payroll department has mentioned to me that I am supposed to also be paying taxes on my UK pension! Can you please confirm? This is news to me and if correct, how are the taxes calculated and how do I pay them. In the last year, I have received no information whatsoever to suggest that taxes need to be paid or indeed, why I am actually being taxed. Thanks.
