Hi HMRC. I relocated domestically in the UK for a job in a new company. This is my first job in the UK and I have been travelling and staying in different locations before I joined the new company. After I received the job offer from the new company, I moved to the city where the new company is and I stayed in hotels nearby while I looked for a flat to rent. I paid for the hotels before I found a flat and my employer later reimbursed me the cost of hotels. Is this reimbursement of hotel costs taxable income/benefit for me? Will the reimbursement count towards the limit of 50,270 pounds per year for basic rate? Which tax form should I use to report this reimbursement of hotel costs? Thanks.
