Hi, I'm soon to receive a company car through a salary sacrifice scheme operated by a third party, but through my company. When should I report this to HMRC (can I do it prior to receiving the vehicle?) and also what is the best way to do this? I have seen advice that my company will do this, but that I shouldn't rely solely on that, and that it is my responsibility - Happy to accept that, but what is the best method by which to do it? Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

Your employer will notify HMRC of the company car benefit. Once the benefit has started, if you want to check your record you can contact our Income Tax team.
