Hello, I am a tax-paying UK resident, non citizen, non domiciled. My parents who live in Hong Kong intend to gift me around £50,000. I understand that there is no Income tax implications of cash gifts from overseas. My question is - Is it a must for my parents to send money directly from their Hong Kong accounts to my UK account, or they can send money to my Hong Kong account and then I transfer it from my Hong Kong account to my UK account? Thank you.

Hi,
It can come from your Hong Kong account but you would need to keep evidence to confirm that this is originally from them to ensure it is not classed as yours.
Thank you.
