Deceased parents information

Hi all To some time now, as a cathartic journey to help my mental health illness, I have been tracing family background of my late parents, and I wonder if it is possible to get employment history for them both, obviously redacted regarding the actual tax and earnings figures? If so, where to I apply and I assume I will need to send copies of death certs? Recently on production of my late father's certificate, the MOD were able to send me his service record.
