Hi HMRC, I am currently stuck in a little bit of an unsure position and would like the guidance of someone who is well versed within this. I am trying to make a case to my employer who is a UK based law firm as I am wishing to stay with my partner in Italy for 10 working days every 2 months to perform my usual work related activities. I am in IT so this is typical third line internal support, with no sales roles or communication with external firms apart from support partners such as Microsoft. My day typically is 50% internal meetings and 50% work and troubleshooting internal related problems and issues, My company are concerned about my right to work while undertaking these activities and I wish to be given guidance by yourselves to see what the standpoint is here. I've concluded from everything I've read it be ok so long as I do not exceed 183 days in 12 months. I will also need to ensure compliance with any other rules in Italy regarding working within the 90 of 180 days for Schengen requirements. Can you offer any guidence here please?
