PMI and Car Benefit

I left my employment in July 2023 and kept my PMI and Company Car benefits until the end of September. At this point I logged into the HMRC online portal to update the fact I no longer have these benefits, but today I received a message that my tax code has changed and these are appearing once more on my account. What has happened? Thanks

The benefits will stay in your tax code until the end of the tax year. The amount will have reduced to reflect the end date.

Hello Sorry if I didn't make my initial post clear. The amount did reduce at the point I entered that my car was returned in September, but 3 months later I received a HMRC notification to say my tax code had changed again and it was back showing the full amount as if I had never recorded that these benefits had been returned/ended.
