Hi We paid Payment on Account Tax bill yesterday via an Online Banking Payment, but unfortunately submitted wrong reference code with payment, ie didn’t use correct UTR. Thus submitted correct amount to correct centre (Shipley) but used wrong reference code. How do we correct this (submit UTR) so the payment submitted will go to the correct account? Thank you

Hi Jamie,
It can take up to 5 working days for the payment to be processed. If you check your online account after 5 working days and if the payment is not shown then you can contact HMRC to trace and allocate the payment Self Assessment: general enquiries.
