Hi HMRC Admin, I arrived UK on 23 Aug 2023 by using BNO visa and become a UK tax resident since then. If I qualify for split year then I am only reporting the income for the UK part of the year, that means from 23 Aug onwards for my case. However, my situation is that I received the Hong Kong Government Continuing Education Fund in November . I applied for this fund during the time when I was still in Hong Kong but it was only granted to me and credited into my bank account after I become a UK tax resident. Do I have to report this income which credit into my account on 30 Nov to HMRC? Thanks,

Hi Ming Yin Au,
If this payment is not taxable in Hong Kong, if you were resident there, then it will not be taxable in the UK.
In which case, you do not need to report it.
Thank you.
