Im 61. UK national, born to British parents, PAYE all my working life in the UK, including 10 years military service in the RAF. I left for Greece in 2015 and returned to the UK 3 years ago after Covid. I have a UK company pension and no other income at this time. I have sent Greece 2 confirmation of Residence Certificates and have just asked my Greek accountant to get a letter sent to the UK explaining why Greece will not accept this. I’m currently in Finland and will be here 4 weeks in total, then Greece for 3 more weeks before returning home to the UK on 11 or 12 October. I am trying to confirm if all is well as I usually over winter in the EU and want to confirm that my UK resident status is not in jeopardy at all if I am abroad again from mid November 24 until mid April 25 Thanks .

Hi Mike9jr,
The UK and Greece have an agreement that the issue of a Letter of Confirmation of Residence is enough to confirm you are tax resident in the UK.
If the Greek authorities will not accept this confirmation, then you need to have this confirmed in writing by the Greek authorities.
Please send the letter (no need to translate it) to HMRC BX9 1AS.
Where it will be assigned to a specialist team who liaise with the Greek authorities, to try to reach an agreement.
Thank you.
