I have just taken on a second part time job and am unsure what this means in regard to income tax. Will my employers be able to account for my other income when they deduct taxes from my wage payments? Any advice much appreciated

Hi,

You would need to ensure you have told your second job that it is your secondary employment.

The tax is situational based on your earnings. If your primary employment uses up all of your personal allowances,
then your secondary income will be taxed on a BR/D0/D1 depending on what your income level is.

If your primary employment does not use up all your allowances, you may be able to split your allowances between the jobs.

You can do this by contacting HMRC, but please be aware it can take up to 5 weeks for the employer to submit the details
of employment on to our system.
