IHT - accessing records etc.

I have to do IHT stuff for a relative. How do I get access to all of their relevant records before PROBATE ? I expect some of their stuff will be on-line and require divulgence of User-Ids and Pwds etc. It will probably take me more than 6 months to get to all of the data and by that time HMRC will be clocking up interest so i need to access everything ASAP. Suggestions appreciated.
