Gift aid query - which number?

I am struggling to understand the number to use to declare gift aid. Do I put the donation amount or just the gift aid element? For example, if I donated £1000 and £250 gift aid was donated as well. Do I put in £1000 on my tax return or £250?

Hi,

It is the actual payment that you made so in this case it is £1000. The system then adds the extra.
