I recently received notice that the German authorities are going to tax me on my small state pension received from them monthly. Im trying to complete my self assessment and it requests details of foreign income. When I do this and request foreign pension credit, the credit amount calculated is zero and I am taxed on all my income including the German state pension. I have read articles which state the UK should not be taxing the German pension. Should I be including this payment for self assessment tax purposes. Thank you.

Hi,
Your German State Pension is only taxable in Germany, so you do not need to include this in your Self Assessment tax return.
Thank you.
