After self assessment for the purpose of higher earnings for child benefit I have agreed to pay via PAYE the 23/24 tax owed via paye in the 25/26 tax year. Are there plans for auto enrolment via paye for this. I'm concerned that I could be hit with a double whammy and end up paying both years at source as opposed to the one agreed. I assumed I will self assess as usual in the early part of 2025 and either pay in full or do the paye again the following year.?

Hi ,

As long as you requested not to have non PAYE income included in the tax code then your tax code will not be amended
to collected the high income child benefit charge, HICBC.

If you tax code has been amended then you will need to contact HMRC to review :

Self Assessment: general enquiries  .

Thank you .
