Hi - I have been living overseas (New Zealand) for the entirety of the last tax year. I have been employed here and paying NZ tax on my earnings. I need to submit a self assessment for property I rent out in the UK. However I am unsure whether to include my NZ earnings in the 'employment' section of the self-assessment. I assumed not, however the notes don't explicitly say UK employment only. Also, should I fill out the 'Foreign' section? I have had foreign income, but it is none of the types listed in the notes (i.e. interests, dividends, etc). It's only been from PAYE employment. Thanks for your help - looking forward to your response.

Hi
You only declare UK income.

Thanks! Can you confirm whether I need to fill out the 'Foreign' section if I have only earned PAYE income while overseas?

Hi
If tax has been paid abroad, yes as you will need this page to claim foreign tax credit relief.
