How do I know if savings interest declared through a tax return affects my tax code?

I am declaring untaxed uk interest through my tax return. I am new to self assessment and this message is displayed. "If you think the information you are adding has an effect on your 6 April 2022 to 5 April 2023 or 6 April 2023 to 5 April 2024 PAYE Tax codes there is guidance to tell you how to let HMRC know of the change" My tax code for 22-23 is 1180L and for 23-24 is 1218L. Both are due to Untaxed interest. How do I know whether the figures I am submitting will affect this in a way that I will have to inform HMRC?
