Hi, My income via PAYE in 2022-23 was:- 119,527.69 Outside of PAYE we also had £6,737.86 So £126,265.55 in total. As the first amount was paid via PAYE i would have thought the amount of tax paid was correct as this is handled by the company i work for. So the only tax due would be on the income earnt outside of PAYE, which at 40% would be £2,695.14. However, after completing my self assessment it says tax due is £7,876.40, how is this possible? And what do i do if i cannot pay this amount?

Hi
Due to your level of income you are not entitled to personal allowances so if these have been given in your PAYE tax code, additional tax will no be due. For payment, you can set up a payment plan - Pay your Self Assessment tax bill
