Hi, my income was around £136000 last year, and I paid £30000 into my personal pension. HMRC added an additional £7500 to my pension. I was expecting this £37500 to count towards reinstating my full personal allowance since that would push my income below £100000. I see in the calculation though, that only the £30000 has counted towards reducing my personal allowance. Why is that? For me that £7500 is still part of my income, but since the government had already taken it in tax, I didn't have that money to put into the pension. Thanks.
