Having completed my Tax return for 22/23, I went in to check update forecast for next year. It says I have a Tax Bill to pay in Jan 24. Only problem is that I have paid that bill already. So when I went in to check Payments Made/received it is there and says' Not Yet Used'. Does that mean come Jan 24 it will then be used against my tax bill? I am a little confused because it is asking me if I want the payment refunded because I have overpaid, but is that because the payment has not yet been charged and will not until Jan24. IE If you have Tax to be paid are you only due it in the next tax year in January. I am a new Sole Trader and still finding my way around this. I would appreciate if anyone give give me a steer on this.

Hi Aileen Knudsen,
As the payment is not due until January 2024 the system will not allocate it now as you are free to request it back before the due date.
It will be allocated to the amount closer to the time.
Thank you.
