Hi, may I know why the certificate of residence includes the UTR? I'm transmitting it to a bank abroad to hold a bank account as a resident in the UK and wondered why the UTR is needed. Thanks!

Hi
A certificate of residence, does not include either a national insurance number or a Unique Taxpayer Reference.  The supporting letter provided with the certificate of residence, does, as you do not need to give that letter to the overseas tax authority.

Hi,

A certificate of residence, issued by HMRC, does not include a national insurance number or UTR number. This information is included in the supporting letter, which you do not need to give to the overseas tax authority.

Thank you.
