I receive a very small amount of dividend income, much less than even the new £500 allowance. When I put these on my SA form they appear to be added to my taxable income despite being below the allowance. Should I not be declaring dividends today are below the limit? I'm an additional rate taxpayer, but that shouldn't affect dividend allowance?

Hi Fashman,
It could be that you're entering your dividends in the wrong section of the tax return .

Hi not HMRC Admin but it isn't a mistake. All dividend income counts as taxable income. Just the first £500 for 24/25 (£1000 for 23/24) is taxed at 0%.
