Hi there, I have been a remote software developer for the past 4 years, I work through limited company, I have been using extra electricity while working from home and I am trying to see what I can do to save running costs around that. I am interested in install solar panel for private property where I remote work from. Can someone explain the choices/paths I have regarding tax implications of this ? is there any government incentives packages as well regarding this? Kind regards,

Hi ichigo179,
Thank you for your query.
HMRC cannot provide tax-planning advice.
You can find general guidance about energy saving for your home here:
Green Deal: energy saving for your home
There is also guidance on environmental taxes, reliefs, and schemes here:
Environmental taxes, reliefs and schemes for businesses
If you need to advice or additional information, you will need to contact a financial adviser, such as an accountant.
Thank you.
