If a charity is on the register of charities, but on Charity Commission website it says the charity is "Not recognised by HMRC for gift aid", can a donor to that charity claim higher rate tax relief on their self-assessment tax return?

Hi,
If the charity is not recognised by HMRC for Gift Aid, then they cannot claim a higher rate of tax relief on their Self Assessment Tax Return.
Thank you.
