Hi, I am filing a self assessment online. I am working for a Hong Kong based company, not paying tax in Hong Kong. I am a UK resident, in the "Tailor your return"section, if I say I'm employed, I will then have to provide PAYE reference, which I don't have. Or do I say I'm not employed, and only need to report my income in foreign, and type in all my income as taxable amount? Thank you!

Hi,

You will need to select 'yes' to the employment sections and enter "None" in the box for a PAYE reference.  This will allow the foreign income to be included in the tax calculation.

Thank you.
