My tax code was amended at the start of the new financial year to pay off an outstanding amount of tax owed for the 23/24 year. I’ve just completed my self assessment for 23/24 tax year as I’ve exceeded the income threshold and it’s stating that I owe tax. Will this be corrected to take into account that I’m paying it off through PAYE?

Hi PooMcGoo90,
When you complete your 2023/24 Self Assessment tax return you will declare the tax deducted at source which will gvie you the credit for the tax already paid including any underpayment coded.
Thank you.
