I am completing my 2023/2024 Self Assessment tax return. My husband submitted his 2023/2024 tax return a couple of months ago and this showed correctly that he was receiving the Married Allowance transferred from me. (He is receiving the marriage allowance for both 2023/2024 and 2024/2025). However, my tax return calculation does not show the married allowance as having been transferred but rather shows the full £12,570 full personal allowance. Although I owe no tax because my total income is below the personal allowance (even with the married allowance reduction), it is disconcerting that the married allowance isn't showing in my calculation. I tried to add the married allowance, but it rejected this option saying the allowance was possibly already being claimed. I cannot attempt this again because it says I have made 3 attempts to say 'Yes' to married allowance. Should I submit my return with the wrong personal allowance calculation? The SA doesn't allow me to do otherwise.

Hi,
It is most likely that the transfer has been applied succesfully. However, if you would like us to confirm this, please submit your return, then contact our Self Assessment team , who will be able to confirm the transfer, or re-apply it if necessary.
