Hi, I received a penalty since I didn't file my Self Assessment by the end of January 2024. The self assessment was due because I earned more than £50,000 for the 2022-2023 tax year and I get Child Benefit. What do I do now? I received a UTR number and registered for self-assessment for the 2022-2023 tax year, but I still cannot find the option to file a self assessment online for that year in my dashboard. Do I need to wait more or should I do things differently? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

If you can't see the Self Assessment tile on the first page of your Personal Tax Account, you may still need to add Self Assessment filing option to your account. To do so, go to:

File your Self Assessment tax return online

If you still can't see the SA tile after this, contact our Online Services via:

Thank you.
