I submitted my return over the weekend and realised almost immediately that I had omitted a source of income. How can I correct this?

Hi,

You can go back in to amend it.
  1. Sign in using your Government Gateway user ID and password.
  2. From ‘Your tax account’, choose ’Self Assessment account’.
  3. Choose ‘More Self Assessment details’.
  4. Choose ‘At a glance’ from the left-hand menu.
  5. Choose ‘Tax return options’.
  6. Choose the tax year for the return you want to amend.
  7. Go into the tax return, make the corrections and file it again.
Thank you.

Hi I need to make an amendment to my mother's 2022-23 tax return because I've found an invoice that needs to be added to the expenses on the UK property form. As she submits a paper tax return, do I need to send in all the pages, or just the one with the amendment, plus maybe page 1 with the personal details? Thanks for any advice

Hi,
As the original tax return was submitted by post the amendment will be needed in writing. If you submit the amended pages with a covering letter to review. Details of how to make an amendment can be seen here:
