This query has been raised previously but the reply wasn't clear. I have used the gross income and tax (PAYE) paid figures from my P60 to complete my Self Assessment (SA). Gross income includes both tax & National Insurance (NI) payments but only the tax is deducted at the end to calculate tax owed. I am therefore paying income tax on my NI payments. Is this the correct procedure?

Hi Aveneir,
If you National Insurance payments are not present on your calculation, it's more likely that your National Insurance payments are not being deducted correctly.
