I registered self-assessment and received a UTR letter on Aug 2024. However, I may not need to send a tax return in 2023-2024 as my arrival in the UK since 2 Jul 2024 and I'm not a Tax-Resident in 2023-2024. I apply for UTR number because I have some small income which is under 1000 pounds after 2 Jul 2024. I wish to apply the split year treatment for 2024-2025. Do I need to do anything or just wait for next year to fill in the split year treatment form?

Hi hazel C,
The split year will apply for 24/25.
If you no longer need to complete a return for 23/24, you will need to tell us to get it cancelled.
