For 2023-2024 financial year, I used the services of tax-agent (Chartered Accountant company) to file my self-assessment. They had sent an authorisation request to act on my behalf to HMRC and HMRC had sent me the authorisation code, which I then gave to the agency. This year, I want to file the self-assessment by myself. I already have an HMRC online account. Is there anything that I need to do here? Can I just file my taxes myself or do I first need to raise a request to remove the agency's authorisation and only after that can I file the self-assessment by myself?

Hi,
You should be able to file your Self Assessment return through your personal tax account following the end of the 2024 to 2025 tax year. If the option to file is not present, or you require any assistance, please contact our Self Assessment team for advice.
