Hello, My main job is taxed via PAYE. I also do some self employed work throughout the year as a second source of income which a part of the income (less than £1000) was from a foreign country directly paid to my UK bank account and the other part of it (also less than £1000) was paid from an online platform to my UK bank account. Combining the two parts of the income, it exceeds the £1000 tax-free allowances on trading income. Am I eligible for the tax-free allowances? Do I declare the foreign income in the 'Foreign' section and the online platform one in the 'Self-employment' section? Thank you.

Hi,
As you are in receipt of foreign income, you meet the criteria to be required to complete a self assesment tax return (even if your total self employment income is below £1000). You would declare the foreign self employment income in a SA103S. If any overseas tax was deducted, you will need to request a certificate of residence for that country, so that you can reclaim the tax deducted by them.
How to apply for a certificate of residence to claim tax relief abroad
Thank you

Hi, Thank you for your response. After I complete the foreign income, do I still need to declare the other part income (less than £1000) from my self-employed work which was paid from an online platform (Fiverr) to my UK bank account? Thank you.

Hi ,

Yes.

You have states that your combined total was over £1000 so you need to show that as your turnover to then claim the trading allowance .

Thank you .
